Roselinde Kessels

Assistant Professor of Statistics and Health Econometrics

Roselinde is assistant professor of statistics and health econometrics at the Department of Data Analytics and Digitalisation of Maastricht University. She has obtained her PhD at KU Leuven in Belgium. She teaches basic and advanced analytical courses to business and economics students using the free programming language and environment for statistical computing and graphics R. Before joining Maastricht University, she was a postdoctoral researcher at North Carolina State University (US) and at the University of Antwerp sponsored by the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO), and also a part-time lecturer at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the University of Amsterdam.

Roselinde’s specialties lie in discrete choice experiments, experimental design, choice modelling, data science, time series and (health) econometrics. In her research she often makes use of JMP statistical software from SAS Institute because it is fun to work with. She has published in many leading journals, and consulted in the public and private sector.
